World Map of Nutrition

The world map invites children, young people and adults to change their perspective.

The unfamiliar depiction of the earth is irritating and encourages people to question familiar patterns of thought and behavior.

Not only representations and national borders, but also the entire global food system bears the traces of an exploitative colonial past. Africa and Asia are central on the map because this is, where mostly hunger is. At the same time, the map vividly depicts colonialism. With Europe at the center and the oversized shape of USA, it becomes clear where changes must finally take place to make a world without hunger possible.

The interactive educational material invites you to learn about approaches to food justice in a playful way using the Actionbound app:

From regenerative education in Malawi, to fair trade in Peru, food councils in Brazil and a simulation game for fair school meals, the approaches are encouraging and can easily be transferred to the reality of young people's lives.
