ABRAXA INTERNATIONAL
ABRAXA INTERNATIONAL, founded in 2005, is headquartered in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Romania.Abraxa proudly presents Soliwood®, an advanced wood-based material that combines the natural beauty of wood with state-of-the-art engineering. Designed for demanding applications, Soliwood® offers outstanding strength, dimensional stability, and high wear resistance, while remaining an environmentally responsible choice. Its unique technology transforms sustainably sourced veneers into a durable, high-performance material that preserves the authentic look and feel of real wood.
At our factory, we manufacture between 160,000 and 200,000 molded components per year, including seats, backrests, armrests, seat shells, snow shovels, and trays, made from beech wood treated with synthetic resin. Our models are produced exclusively to customer order, according to specific technical requirements, and are delivered across Europe—mainly to Germany, Hungary, Slovakia, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
Manufacturing Process
Production starts with wet veneers, which are immediately impregnated with synthetic resins specially formulated for Abraxa. The impregnated veneers are then dried under controlled conditions in our multi-storey veneer dryer. Packages consisting of approximately 20 layers of resin-treated veneers, along with decor papers and overlay films, are introduced into hydraulic presses (600–800 tons). Using extreme pressure and high temperature, the final components are molded and finished.
The result is a highly durable, exceptionally hard material with a density of approximately 1.3 g/cm³, making it about twice as dense as standard plywood. After pressing, the parts already have their final surface and finish, eliminating the need for additional treatments such as lacquering or surface waxing. Only edge grinding and waxing are required.
Finally, components are drilled according to customer specifications and are ready for immediate assembly.
