What began in 1870 as a bookbinding workshop has developed over 150 years of company history into a modern group of companies that operates successfully in the fields of books, art, maps, bronze casting, and services, while remaining firmly rooted in Christian values.

The book business is a core area of our group of companies.
Since 1874, the Butzon & Bercker publishing house has been publishing books on Christian themes and has made a name for itself in the field of religious books for children and young people in particular. Other areas of focus include gift books, spiritual titles, and nonfiction books.

Christian art and religious handicrafts have a long tradition in the pilgrimage town of Kevelaer and form the second core area of Butzon & Bercker GmbH. The program of the Butzon & Bercker art workshops offers products made from a wide variety of materials such as slate, bronze, natural silver, wood, porcelain, natural stone, and glass, and comprises a total of more than 4,500 religious items. This segment is complemented by the Butzon & Bercker Karten division, whose high-quality range of greeting cards and postcards is also well known beyond the religious market. The BERCKER art-line division, on the other hand, has specialized in artistic bronzes since 1995 and stands for innovative ideas and careful craftsmanship “made in Germany.”

Another mainstay of Butzon & Bercker GmbH is the service sector. In 1997, the delivery service for books and art was professionalized and expanded into the Niederrhein Delivery Center (AZN). With individually tailored services and comprehensive personal customer support, the AZN has firmly established itself in the medium-sized market. In 2017, the Niederrhein Delivery Center (AZN) became the Bercker Delivery Center (AZB).
