Deutsche Schule Shanghai

For over 30 years, the German School Shanghai (DSS) has been providing excellent German education in the global metropolis of Shanghai. At two locations, DSS offers learning and community spaces for around 1,100 children and young people from more than 20 nationalities, from kindergarten through all recognized German school-leaving qualifications.

The German School Shanghai is one of the largest German schools abroad and has held the “Excellent German School Abroad” quality seal since 2011. As a German school abroad in China, and as part of the Eurocampus in partnership with the French School, German festivals and traditions, as well as the language and customs of the host country, are an integral part of our multicultural school life.

We provide state-of-the-art and innovative facilities to support educational and academic work across all departments – from modern group, learning, and science rooms, our own music school, sports parks with competition-ready swimming pools and climbing walls, to the Fine Arts Center and the largest German library in Asia.
