Zukunftsraum Schule (School as a Space for the Future) is a project for healthy, learning-friendly, and sustainable educational spaces. The aim of the project is to bring together scientific findings, practical knowledge, and concrete recommendations for action in such a way that school authorities, local authorities, planners, and schools can improve learning spaces in a sustainable manner—in a way that is measurable, implementable, and effective.




Zukunftsraum Schule is a project of the Heinz Trox Foundation. The foundation has been active for many years at the interface of education, science, and social responsibility. Its focus is on transferring scientific findings into practice and promoting sustainable solutions to key issues of the future, particularly in the field of education.

A central element of this commitment is Heinz Trox Wissenschafts gGmbH (HTx), an independent scientific society of the foundation. HTx works in an interdisciplinary and application-oriented manner on topics such as learning space design, indoor climate, health, well-being, and learning success. It initiates and supports research projects, develops practical tools, and ensures that scientific findings are translated into concrete recommendations for schools.

Zukunftsraum Schule focuses on holistic learning environments that systematically take into account factors such as temperature, acoustics, indoor air quality, and lighting. The project sees itself as a platform for knowledge transfer, dialogue, and best practice with the aim of designing school spaces in such a way that
