Vision Domes GmbH

Vision Domes delivers green outdoor classrooms and additional learning spaces as geodesic domes together with schools across Germany – co-built with students in a hands-on workshop format. In our project “Build. Learn. Dome.”, students transform an unused spot on the school grounds into a functional learning space within 3–5 school days: planned, built and co-designed by young people from grade 7 onwards.

To achieve this, we design and realize modular, regionally manufactured wooden geodomes as weather-protected learning and meeting spaces. Based on a flexible modular system, each dome is adapted to the site conditions, intended use and the school’s specific requirements. What makes the approach unique: space and education go hand in hand – the shared build process strengthens self-efficacy, teamwork and a sense of belonging. The circular timber architecture creates a special learning atmosphere and is also sustainable and demountable.

We support schools from the first idea to implementation: consultation, site and use concept, delivery of the dome and the workshop. The project can be funded through the Startchancen Programme (depending on the setup, Pillar I/II). Meet us at didacta and book an individual consultation appointment.
