The “Fritid” movement construction site for daycare centers and elementary schools consists of boxes of various sizes that can be stacked inside each other, as well as boards of different lengths, square timbers, half-round timbers, and various wooden building blocks. The transport carts keep everything tidy and mobile for a fresh start the next day.

Our “Fritid” movement construction site promotes the motor, social, and cognitive development of children between the ages of 4 and 12. Based on the principle of self-activity, the children create a wide variety of movement opportunities and movement landscapes, either individually or in groups. Boards and square timbers are used as ascents and descents as well as connecting elements. This creates ramps, slides, chicken ladders, seesaws, footbridges, bridges, and paths.

The movement construction site was originally developed by Braunschweig-based psychomotor therapist and sports educator Klaus Miedzinski with educational, motor, and health-promoting aspects in mind, and we have further developed it based on the ideas of educator Angelika von der Beek.
