Simulation game "Politics & International Security"

POL&IS is a multi-day, interactive, role-based simulation that presents security policy concepts in a simplified way with predefined rules. It shows participants how dynamic politics can be. At the same time, it aims to spark interest in shaping political processes and in international security policy. POL&IS consists of 13 regions that interact across all areas of world politics. Participants take on the roles of various political parties and actors in international politics. The heads of government and their ministers for economy, security, and the environment develop their strategies for the future. The United Nations provide the platform for negotiations, while the world press and non-governmental organizations uncover and condemn inactivity, violations of law, and scandals. Together they experience international politics. They understand how states try to solve crises and conflicts and engage with issues such as economic and energy policy, human rights, environmental protection, resource scarcity, and development aid.
