elja® is the original creator of weighted animals in Europe – an Austrian social enterprise specializing in supporting deep pressure perception and sensory integration. Founder Elisa Wegl developed the elja® Weighted Animals more than ten years ago, inspired by the needs of her autistic son.

Today, all elja® Weighted Animals are lovingly handcrafted in Austria – sustainable, social, and of the highest quality. Part of the production takes place in cooperation with a psychosocial workshop. Through the elja® Special Needs Fund, the company helps families acquire their own companion for calmness, focus, and well-being.
