The LVR-Landesjugendamt Rheinland is committed to ensuring that the start of a child’s educational pathway is professionally and effectively designed. As a central service provider and professional partner to the local youth welfare offices in the Rhineland, we work together with providers and professionals to sustainably ensure quality and reliability of daycare facilities and childcare.

Education does not begin in the classroom, but already in early childhood. Daycare centers and childcare facilities are educational settings with an independent statutory mandate. This is where children acquire fundamental social, emotional, linguistic, and cognitive competencies.

As a specialist and supervisory authority, we support youth welfare offices and providers in the Rhineland in implementing this educational mandate in a professionally sound manner. Using federal, state, and our own funds, we promote daycare services for children. We provide consultation, further develop professional standards and implement joint projects. We also offer training and professional development for staff of youth welfare offices and providers.

In this way, we strengthen those who shape education from the very beginning.
