We believe that every child needs not just a place, but their place. As a nationwide youth welfare organisation headquartered in Cologne, we develop individualised educational programmes for children, young people and families. At the heart of our work are our Leuchtfeuer families – pedagogically qualified foster homes – where children and young people from difficult life situations find a loving, stable home when it is not possible for them to remain with their families of origin. We offer young people guidance and a place for a new start.

Our subsidiaries expand our needs-based services:

NEXT Leuchtfeuer offers support for girls, young women and FLINTA* individuals – in other words, young people who experience discrimination based on gender or identity. The aim is to create a safer space for these young people where they feel welcome, protected and accepted.

AHOI Leuchtfeuer is our response to the growing need for differentiated, integrated support. In addition to our traditional outpatient services, we specialise in working with people with mental illness. We are creating a new, holistic service in the Cologne area, combining educational and integration support and, where necessary, integrating sociotherapy.
