Savings Banks School Service - Platform for financial education in schools

The Savings Banks School Service, which is part of the German Savings Banks Association, has been supporting schools and teachers with financial education materials since 1975. The Savings Banks School Service promotes the handling of money and finances among children and young people with free of cost and free of advertising offers for primary and secondary schools – according to the guiding principle “Finanzbildung für alle” (Financial education for everyone).

Via the digital platform www.sparkassen-schulservice.de, Savings Banks School Service provides more than 200 materials for around 30 lessons on financial education in schools, helping teachers to make their lessons effective and exciting. These include easy-to-understand PDFs, interactive quizzes, educational videos and complete lesson plans.

The digital edu-game mission:decision on behavioral economics can also be used free of cost and without needing to register on the platform. All digital resources have been specifically designed to promote financial education in schools. Teachers can easily integrate the materials into their lessons and use them to teach students the basics of personal financial planning, saving and sustainable investing, among other things.

In addition, the Savings Banks School Service offers a variety of free school lectures for secondary schools that can be booked by schools. The school lectures focus on young people's everyday financial lives and teach basic, real-life skills. All lectures are held by neutral experts and cover various topics relating to money, accounts, cards and finances – without advertising.
