The Vision Dome Pavilion is an open, weather-protected learning and meeting space built together with students in a workshop format. This creates a new place on the school grounds while also enabling a powerful process for self-efficacy, teamwork, taking responsibility and identification.
The pavilion works as an outdoor classroom, a space for projects and clubs, a calm meeting point during breaks, or a shared sheltered area on the school yard. With plenty of daylight, natural materials and its round spatial design, it creates a special atmosphere that supports creativity, interaction and focused group work—clearly different from a standard classroom.
In a 3–5 day build workshop (from grade 7 onwards), students build the pavilion with our team in clearly defined roles and stations (e.g., preparation, fastening, painting, assembly). “Learning by doing” is the pedagogical core: many small steps become a visible, shared success—and a learning space that can be used every day afterwards.
Construction: The Vision Dome Pavilion consists of a spruce geodome frame with a partial shell of transparent Makrolon elements and opaque wooden panels, blending the boundary between inside and outside. The base ring is spruce; the structure is founded on screw foundations incl. connectors—removable without residue and without large-scale sealing.
Available sizes are Ø 4 m (12 m²), Ø 5 m (18 m²) and Ø 6 m (27 m²).
Design and equipment are adapted to site and use; optional add-ons include platform/floor solutions, seating modules and further equipment.
Eligible for funding via the Startchancen Programme (Pillar I & II). We have already delivered projects at several schools and other institutions.
